Over the past 30 years we have carried out a wide range of commercial diving tasks and projects such as underwater inspections, repairs, ship service, underwater and above water welding, cable work and much more. On this page you can find a selection of news as well as the projects. The page will be continuously updated
We are growing and have expanded our location in Kolding by almost 1,000 square meters.
The new expansion includes 800 square meters of workshop space and 140 square meters of office space, providing us with new opportunities to strengthen our metal fabrication production. As part of this expansion, we have also relocated our administration to Kolding.
While we continue to specialize in commercial diving, we are expanding further into metal fabrication and construction work above water. Our new workshop facilities allow us to increase our production capacity and handle even larger projects than before. We continue to offer customized solutions tailored to our clients' needs.
In line with this, we are working towards achieving ISO 1090 certification, with full documentation prepared and overseen by our quality manager.
This expansion also means we look forward to welcoming more skilled professionals to join our growing team.
We were called out for an inspection of a ship that had grounded and needed to identify potential damages.
Pre-Service inspection:
Our dive team initiated an inspection of the vessel and discovered that all four blades of the ship’s propeller were damaged, and the hull has sustained scratches. In consultation with the class surveyor, the shipowner, and NMS, we determined it was necessary to cut all four tips of the propeller blades to minimize the ship’s downtime. The next day, NMS dispatched a team of specialist to carry out the cutting operation.
Repair process:
To ensure that most of the propeller remained intact, it was crucial to remove only the damaged parts. Therefore, the team took precise measurements to ensure a minimal cut and used a special hydraulic cutter to make a straight cut.
This helped ensure that the ship did not experience any vibrations during the subsequent sailing, allowing them to continue their journey the same day.
We always strive to be ready to respond whenever our customer need us.
Thanks to our team for a well-executed task!
One of our recent tasks involved delicately placing concrete mattresses on the seabed to protect an aging pipeline and secure the embankment for an upcoming excavation and construction project.
Firstly, the divers directed crane operators to ensure each mattress found its precise position.
Afterwards the divers secured the mattresses together using shackles, preventing any potential shifts.
Following this, divers installed marking buoys to aid future construction efforts, marking the pipeline's path.
Finally, we securely anchored chains from the concrete mattresses to the shore, to ensure lasting protection.

Life-saving skills are crucial for everyone involved in diving tasks. Every 24 months, we gather to ensure that our commercial divers and other employees are updated and ready to handle any emergency that may arise above or below the water. We're fortunate to have our experienced instructor, Kim Berg, join us for these sessions. Kim ensures a comprehensive review of techniques, covering both theory and practice.
Thanks to Kim for his dedication and always engaging stories. We dive into various aspects, including dive tables, regulations, and practical experiences. This ensures that our employees are equipped to provide life-saving first aid in case of an emergency.
In addition to 2023 was an eventful year filled with various diving projects, it also marked the year when NMS welcomed a new partner.
It is with great joy and pride that we introduce our new CEO at Nordic Marine Service; Allan Schütt! 🎉
Allan holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering and brings an impressive background including Senior Project Management and craftsman skills to the table. Furthermore, Allan is educated within steel construction, certified welding and engineering, and he is of course trained in and has a background from commercial diving. He has been a central part of Nordic Marine Service for the past four years, and we are confident that his knowledge and dedication will take our company to new depths (quite literally).
Our current managing partner, Kenneth, will take on the role of COO. His many years of experience and expertise in commercial diving will contribute to operational activities, optimize workshop operations, and ensuring that equipment and tools are in top-notch condition.
With Allan at the helm, we will continue to deliver the industry's best solutions and services in commercial diving and the maritime industry. His deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of our work make him a great leader for our team.
We are looking forward to exciting times and many successful dive projects under his leadership.
As the year approaches its end, we reflect on an eventful year.
2023 has been marked by exciting tasks and new challenges, expanding our scope of work at Nordic Marine Service A/S.
Throughout the year, our team has not only faced tasks beneath the sea surface but also an increasing amount of welding and construction work, including the production, repair, and installation of boat landings on offshore wind farms.
Both our diving vessels have been fully engaged throughout the year, carrying out a successful UXO campaign, numerous survey tasks, and ROV services, as well as tunnel and cable work.
Furthermore, all our trucks have covered land and sea to provide services to the maritime industry and carry out various contracting tasks. This includes everything from inspecting sprinkler tanks to handling both long-term projects and emergency response tasks. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that ships receive their necessary service inspections, both nationally and internationally.
Contractor services continue to be a significant part of our workload. This requires delivering quality solutions on time, as well as enhancing safety and quality in the diving profession with every task. Our commitment to professionalism and values is reflected in the varied skills and unwavering dedication of our team members, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver exceptional results.
Vores faglige fokus og værdigrundlag ses i vores medarbejders mange færdigheder og dedikation til opgaverne, der altid er villige til at gå den ekstra meter.
We are pleased to announce that our staff has nearly doubled during the year. This includes our first welding apprentice, who received his certificate in January and now works both as a diver and a welder in the company. The company's second welding apprentice started after the summer break, working hard to develop his skills continuously. Upon completing his training, he will embark on a diving course to utilize his skills underwater as well.
We take great pride in developing and enhancing the skills of our employees, ensuring that our customers and partners receive the highest quality workforce. We would like to thank all of you for your support and trust throughout the year and look forward to another year filled with new exciting tasks, opportunities, and successes.
Happy New Year to all!
In the photos, you can see our blacksmith apprentice fully engaged in welding and cutting a steel structure above the water, which the divers will later use below the surface. Our apprentice is working on a job alongside experienced blacksmiths and divers, who can support him and include him in the many facets of the project.
This steel structure serves as a tool that enables us to carry out tasks on a pumping station beneath the ocean surface. The shaped steel profiles are used as a temporary construction that paves the way for the later installation of H-profiles for the final structure.
At Nordic Marine Service A/S, we have created several custom-designed solutions that meet and match the customer’s specific requirements. If you need a tailored solution, we are ready to assist both above and below the water.
Oskar is a young and talented apprentice who is passionate about pursuing his dream of becoming an underwater welder.
With a strong ambition to excel in underwater welding, Oskar has begun his 3.5-year blacksmithing education, which will form the solid foundation for his future and equip him with the necessary skills.
However, Oskar’s ambitions and professional development do not stop with the blacksmithing program. He aims to expand his career by taking a diving qualification in the future. This additional certification will allow him to combine his metalworking skills with expertise in underwater welding.
What makes Oskar the perfect match for Nordic Marine Service is our expertise in both metalwork and underwater welding. As a company specializing in these fields, we are proud to offer Oskar the training and knowledge he needs to follow his dream.
We are very happy to have Oskar as part of our team. His enthusiasm, dedication, and eagerness to learn make him a valuable addition to our workforce. We are confident that he will achieve his goals and become a skilled commercial diver in the future.
With specialized drilling equipment, our divers carefully extracted core samples from the bridge piers. Our findings provided insights into the condition of the bridge, allowing us to propose future strategies.
In the photo, you can see one of our diving vessels. Our diving vessel serves as a mobile base for our operations, and with the expertise of our dive teams, it is used to carry out a wide range of projects.
We are proud to have played a role in improving and safeguarding the integrity of this critical infrastructure. Every day, countless people rely on this bridge, which is why its maintenance is extremely important.
At Nordic Marine Service, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of underwater exploration and leveraging advanced technology to deliver exceptional results.
A collaboration between Nordic Marine Service and Blue Atlas Robotics, combining under water work and ROV inspection revolutionizing the field of underwater solutions.
Recently, our team had the privilege of undertaking a project involving a core drill sampling and a ROV pipeline inspection. During the operation we had a visit from Blue Atlas Robotics who captured our skilled commercial diver and entire process on film!

One of our sheet metalworkers, Oliver, has always been dreaming of becoming a diver and this dream is about to become a reality. For the last 5 years Oliver has been working in the company as a diving assistant and as a welder. In the meantime, he has done several courses as Kirby Morgan Technician, STCW and welding courses. Oliver is now in Norway to get his commercial diving certificate from NYD. We are excited to see him become a part of the diving industry and to have him as a diving colleague at Nordic Marine Service.
Thank you, Ants Stern, for the great pictures!
During an inspection on one of the vessels in Svendborg, the diver received a friendly visit from the dolphin Delle. The 3-meter bottlenose dolphin can be seen here curiously observing the work being carried out. The diver remains calm and is allowed to admire Delle up close.
The topside dive assistants also get the chance to enjoy the sight of Svendborg’s famous tourist attraction. It’s not the first time Delle has stopped by to say hello. During our diving operations in Svendborg Sound, Delle has visited us several times to see what we’re doing.

Offshore wind farms are becoming more prevalent across the globe and form part of the overall effort to ensure sustainability. In order for the turbines and foundations to last as long as possible, a thorough inspection is required, not only of the energy-generating turbine but also underwater. At Nordic Marine Service we can help with these underwater inspections and maintenance work, which can consist of both inspection and maintenance of concrete, steel and cable tracé as well as replacement of cathodic protection etc. The inspectors can be carried out with ROV and or divers. Nordic Marine Service has just completed inspection of 20 offshore wind mills, where the work consisted of cleaning key points, inspection and replacement of anodes with detailed report as of the results. The customer will subsequently receive video documentation and a report, which overall contributes to the further and future maintenance plan, so that the customer can ensure continued operation of the turbines.

Nordic Marine Service A/S operates several diving vessels, and the photo shows the view from one of them:
⚓️ M/V Seaworker
On board, you will find a specially designed diving container equipped with fully approved diving gear for two divers, allowing for direct diving operations from the vessel. In addition, the vessel is equipped with a crane and an A-frame, which are used whenever the task requires it.
M/V Seaworker can therefore be used as a contractor, survey, and inspection vessel. The ship can handle many different types of assignments, including:
– Installation of pipelines, anchor rods, and diffusers
– Quay, sheet pile, and ferry berth repairs
– Bridge inspections
– Cleaning and core drilling
– Inspections and video documentation
– Minor cable work and repairs
– ROV operations
At our workshop in Svendborg, the blacksmiths at Nordic Marine Service have been busy producing 16 brackets, custom-made according to the customer’s specifications. These have now been sent for galvanization and will then be ready for installation.
Our cross-professional work approach enables us to assist you both above and below the waterline. We operate wherever our customers require our services, both in Denmark and abroad.
Nordic Marine Service was once again able to help one of our clients with a fast response and sent a diving team. The customer had gotten a moring line into the bow thruster and the grid was removed to be able to cut the moring line free. Two hours later, the propeller is again free and the grid is fastened. It is always great to help our clients with a quick evacuation so that they can once again sail on and continue their work.

On Friday, January 6th, Nordic Marine Service A/S made history.
Our very first blacksmith apprentice has completed his training. A big congratulations to Oliver, who after four years of dedicated work has now received official proof of his qualifications.
In March, Oliver will begin diving school, and his blacksmithing skills will soon be put to use both above and below the water. Having a craft-based background gives Oliver a strong advantage in his future work beneath the surface with Nordic Marine Service A/S.
